Liposuction & Body Contouring in West Palm Beach, FL

Targeted fat removal. Thoughtful contouring. Explore the AYON Body Contouring System and Renuvion with Dr. Albert Carlotti.

Also called: liposculpture, lipo, body contouring, ultrasound-assisted liposuction

Dr. Albert Carlotti offers liposuction and body contouring with the AYON system at BellaNova Cosmetic Surgery in West Palm Beach. Your consultation considers fat distribution, skin laxity and whether Renuvion is appropriate after liposuction.

Liposuction reshapes selected areas by removing localized fat. It is not a weight-loss treatment or a reliable way to treat cellulite. Your skin’s elasticity and the tissues beneath it affect the result. Read the ASPS overview of liposuction.

Technology at BellaNova

AYON Body Contouring System in West Palm Beach

The AYON Body Contouring System brings ultrasound-assisted liposuction, suction and Renuvion tissue contraction into one platform. Ultrasound energy helps prepare fat for removal; suction removes it. Renuvion provides a separate treatment step for tissue beneath the skin.

Having these tools together allows Dr. Carlotti to plan fat removal and tissue treatment around your anatomy. The tools used in your operation depend on your examination and goals; every patient does not need every component.

Renuvion skin tightening after liposuction

Fat reduction and skin laxity are different concerns. Renuvion uses radiofrequency energy and helium plasma through a slender instrument placed beneath the skin to contract collagen-rich tissue. It is a surgical treatment performed through small incisions. See the manufacturer’s explanation of Renuvion.

The FDA cleared the Renuvion APR handpiece for coagulation of subcutaneous soft tissues following liposuction for aesthetic body contouring. That clearance applies to the specified device and use; it does not mean every patient or every body area is a suitable treatment choice. Read the FDA’s Renuvion update.

Dr. Carlotti evaluates whether tissue contraction may help your contour or whether removing excess skin with a tummy tuck, arm lift or thigh lift would better address your concerns.

Am I a candidate for liposuction?

A consultation considers your overall health, weight stability, nicotine use, skin elasticity and expectations. Common areas evaluated for liposuction include:

  • Flanks and love handles
  • Abdomen, in patients with good skin quality and no significant muscle separation
  • Outer and inner thighs
  • Bra roll and upper back
  • Upper arms with good skin tone
  • Submental fullness beneath the chin
  • Male chest, in combination with gland excision — see gynecomastia

Skin quality determines whether fat removal alone is enough. Renuvion may be considered after liposuction, while substantial excess skin or abdominal muscle separation calls for a different surgical plan. ASPS describes the general qualities of a liposuction candidate.

How AYON liposuction and Renuvion fit your treatment plan

Plan the contour. Dr. Carlotti examines the areas you want to change, their relationship to surrounding areas, and how much of the concern comes from fat, skin or deeper support. Your plan specifies treatment areas, anesthesia and whether procedures should be combined or staged.

Remove selected fat. Tumescent fluid, ultrasound-assisted preparation and suction through small cannulas are selected as appropriate. Contouring aims to preserve balanced transitions between treated and adjacent areas.

Assess tissue contraction. When Renuvion is included, it is a distinct step after liposuction, performed beneath the skin. It does not remove a large skin overhang or repair separated abdominal muscles.

Consultation and surgery take place at our West Palm Beach surgical facility, 1261 S Congress Ave, West Palm Beach, FL 33406. You receive a plan for incision care, compression and follow-up before going home.

Recovery timeline

Recovery varies with the areas treated, treatment extent and any combined surgery. These are broad planning stages; Dr. Carlotti’s instructions determine your return to work and exercise.

WhenWhat to expect
First weekExpect soreness, bruising and swelling. Follow your activity restrictions, incision care and prescribed compression plan.
Weeks 2–3Symptoms generally improve. Timing for work depends on your recovery and how physically demanding your job is.
Weeks 4–6Swelling continues to settle. Increase activity only as cleared; strenuous exercise may need more time.
Following monthsContour becomes easier to assess as swelling settles. Keep follow-up visits to review healing and the result.

ASPS liposuction recovery guidance describes general recovery stages. Adding Renuvion or another operation may change your individual timetable.

Risks and considerations

Liposuction risks include bleeding, fluid collections, infection, changes in sensation, contour irregularity, asymmetry, poor healing and the possibility of revision. Anesthesia complications, blood clots and injury to deeper structures can occur. Ultrasound-assisted treatment also carries a risk of thermal injury. Review the ASPS liposuction risk information.

Renuvion has device-specific precautions and risks that must be discussed for your planned treatment. Adding technology does not eliminate surgical risk or guarantee a particular degree of tightening. Your consultation addresses alternatives, including choosing no procedure.

Cost and financing

Your written quote covers the surgeon, anesthesia, facility and compression garments. The total reflects the treatment areas, operative time and whether Renuvion is included. Explore cost and financing or request a consultation for a plan specific to you.

Liposuction: questions patients ask

What is the AYON Body Contouring System?

AYON is an integrated surgical platform with ultrasound-assisted liposuction, suction and Renuvion technology. Dr. Carlotti selects the components appropriate for your body contouring plan.

How is Renuvion different from liposuction?

Liposuction removes fat. Renuvion uses radiofrequency energy and helium plasma to contract tissue beneath the skin. They address different parts of a contouring plan and may be used together.

Is Renuvion a nonsurgical skin-tightening treatment?

No. Renuvion treatment after liposuction is performed beneath the skin through small incisions. It involves surgical recovery, follow-up and device-specific risks.

Is Renuvion FDA cleared for use after liposuction?

Yes. The FDA cleared the Renuvion APR handpiece for coagulation of subcutaneous soft tissues following liposuction for aesthetic body contouring. Treatment must follow the device’s labeling and appropriate patient selection.

Can liposuction with Renuvion replace a tummy tuck?

Not when the problem requires removing substantial excess skin or repairing abdominal muscle separation. Dr. Carlotti evaluates whether liposuction, tissue contraction, a tummy tuck or a combination fits your anatomy.

How much time should I plan for recovery?

Plan around your specific operation and job. Swelling and bruising are expected early, and exercise resumes in stages with clearance. Combining Renuvion or other surgery can change the timetable.

Will I need to maintain my weight afterward?

Yes. Future weight changes can alter your contour even after fat is removed. A stable weight and realistic goals are part of planning a lasting result.
